Dear Colleagues,
I hope each of you are settling well into the beginning of the summer season and finding opportunities for both rest and renewal.
Over the past several months, we have been engaged in an important search process for 2021国产麻豆剧鈥檚 next Vice President for Student Life and Formation. Following a national search, three finalists were invited to campus to participate in interviews and conversations with members of our community. Each candidate participated in an open Q&A session with the broader Student Life and Formation team and also met with the SLAF direct report team, the search advisory committee, and Cabinet. I am grateful for the thoughtful participation, feedback, prayer, and discernment that helped shape this process.
After careful consideration, I am pleased to share that Dr. Jamie Johnson has been selected as 2021国产麻豆剧鈥檚 next Vice President for Student Life and Formation. Jamie currently serves at George Fox University as Dean for Spiritual Life and University Pastor. Over the course of more than two decades in Christian higher education, he has served in leadership roles connected to spiritual life, student development, residence life, pastoral care, intercultural engagement, and student formation. I have attached Jamie鈥檚 resume and faith statement if you would like to learn more about his background and experience.
Throughout the process, Jamie demonstrated strong leadership abilities, a collaborative and relational spirit, and a deep commitment to Christian higher education and the holistic formation of students. It became clear through his interactions with various groups across campus that he genuinely values community, discipleship, belonging, and the important work of walking alongside students during some of the most formative years of their lives.
Jamie shared the following message for our community:

This opportunity to join Dr. Fulcher, the Cabinet, the Student Life and Formation team and the entire 2021国产麻豆剧 community in this work is a wonderful blessing, and I can't wait to become an official Sea Lion this summer.鈥�
While we are still finalizing details related to transition timing and an official start date, I wanted to share this exciting news with you now.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the search advisory committee for the significant time, care, and discernment they invested throughout this process. In addition, I want to thank the entire Student Life and Formation team for the steadiness and care you have demonstrated throughout this season.
Now please join me in welcoming Jamie and his family to the 2021国产麻豆剧 community and in praying for them as they prepare for this transition.
